“Everything is going to be alright.’’ I whispered as I held him in my arms. I could tell that he was distraught. He was not okay and I was only trying my best to comfort him. my heart broke for him. While the Queen had been a horrible person towards me, she was still a person. And she did her job diligently. She was a wonderful Queen. She has raised and trained my mate to be a great Alpha.

“ She was found dead in her chambers. Poisoned.’’

“ Patricia killed your mother?’’ the words flew out of my mouth before I had the chance to stop them. and I was afraid of the impact that they would have on my mate. He lay his head on my lap as he cried. and I couldn't help but want to comfort him. but I didn't know how. All I could do was play with his hair and tell him that everything is going to be alright. this was the first time that I had seen him vulnerable. it was also the first time that he had let himself cry in my presence. I sympathize with him. what had happened to him is traumatizing.
