69. Partially Strange Feelings

EMILY POV

I felt stupid as I stared at Leo's dreamy eyes. The anger I felt towards him abated and I quickly freed myself from his hold. I avoided his gaze as he paid little attention to my reaction.

"Let's head to the office in my car. I want you to meet some stakeholders as we prepare for the opening ceremony," he said, scrolling through his phone.

"Alright," I said, then he laughed all of a sudden.

"I didn't even get a thank you for saving me," he said as he walked behind me.

I smiled shyly then whispered a "thank you." As we drove to work, I hummed a sound from my earphones and moved my body to the rhythm. As I turned to face my side, Leo's eyes were on me. I instantly stopped dancing and sat upright. I could not fathom why he was giving me more attention than he used to. I wondered if it was our mini date to the beach side or he was starting to follow his father's instructions. Falling in love with me was out of the question so I did not think about it.
