Oxford International School

I read the email for the nth time already after they sent me a few days ago. The only difference is now I am here in front of the institution. My mouth drop on the floor when I see the front gate of Oxford International School. This is surreal! This is my dream school and here I am, infront of it's gate! I am super duper excited to enter and study here. This is a dream come true!

" Ouch", I found myself kissing the floor. I violently looked back at who's the bastard pushed me.

" You're in my way. " he said and walked away. I heard chuckles and laughs from other students who saw me. I glared at them sending daggers. I glanced in the place where I saw that guy who pushed me but he disappeared in the crowded students.

"Tss rich kids who don't knew how to mind their own businesses and a rich kid who thinks he owns this school" I murmured in the air while getting up from the floor. I dusted off my jeans and t-shirt. I am here in the OIS to take exams for the scholarship I am applying for. A few days ago I received a late email telling me that they officially accepting me as one of their freshman students. But it was too late for me to prepare added by the fact of what happened to my mom. So I am here to take the scholarship exam as well as to talk to the dormitory landowner if they have still space for me to stay in. Today is the first official classes of this school so as expected this place is full of students with their luxury things hanging on their bodies, and their cosy gadgets. I felt a little out of place because I wear my best and most comfortable chadaaaaa a shirt and a fitted jeans paired with my favorite high cut sneakers.

I cutted my thoughts and started to walk towards the huge gate.

" Excuse me Ma'am. Do you need anything?" the guard asks me eyeing from head to toe. I raise my brows and pouted.

" Mr. Guard, I am a student here but I won't attend today's classes for I am going to take the scholarship exams." I explained feeling irritated.

" Oh sorry Ms. , walk straight on this pathway and turn right. If you see the color white building you'll see another guard there and ask where is the interview and exams for scholarships held. " he directs with apologetic smile.

" Thank you, sir. By the way I am Tyrel Jenkins but you can call me Ty." I returned a smile and walk away from him raising my right hand on the air gesturing a goodbye.

" Be careful Miss not to kiss the floor again!" he half shouted in the distance. I turned my back and my eyes widen. He knew I was pushed before? Geezz how many people saw me? This is embarrassing! This is that guy's fault! I pouted again and imitate a salute to the guard. He just nodded in response.

Atleast he's not that rude just like some of the guards who acts like a principal or the owner of the school base on their attitudes.

I carefully followed the guard's direction and I am sweating from walking. He didn't mention how long this hall way is. Finally I reached the white building. I wiped my sweats and pulled out my strawberry perfume to spray in my body. I don't want to smell awful in front of others.

" You can do this, Ty! Aja! For mom!" I cheered myself mentally while walking heading to the guard standing in the glass door opening it when there's people enter or going out.

" Hi Sir. I just want to ask where is the interview and examinations?" I politely asked.

" Walk upstairs in the second floor, the first room. " He pointed the staircase and nodded to me. I slightly bow my head showing my respect and little gratitude.

" Thank you sir" I thanked him and walk upstairs.

After almost half of an hour, I finished the exam with slightly difficulty.

" A piece of cake", I commented and headed to the dormitory. I asked the guard in the white building where it was located. I walk again in along but different hallway heading at the back of this campus. I roamed my eyes where buildings are painted white, gray while some are black. There are singnages in every door informing of what it is. I looked back because I felt off. The hallway is too quite. As I'm going to turn my head infront, I collide against a pole.

" Ouch!" I groaned in pain.

" Aighttt, what a bad day it is. " I pouted as I touch my forehead that starts to swell. I heard a laugh from somewhere and my eyes widen—twice this day I embarrassed myself. This is that man's fault! The one who pushed me earlier is the one who gave me a bad luck. I stared at the pole and hit it lightly.

" I hate you," I murmured in the air and I heard a small laugh again. I look in front, back, left side, and right side of the place but I found nothing. I felt a little scared. I blinked my eyes a few times turning my sight again in the pole. A light bulb appeared in my mind.

" Aha! Are you the one who laugh?", I ask the pole expecting it to answer me back.

" What the HAHAHAH . You really are not only a weirdo but a crazy woman." a deep voice answered laughing.

" How did you get that deep voice huh? Mr. pole? I never imagined a pole can talk, I only saw it in televisions." I dreamily examined the pole again but now a little bit nearer. I touched it by my one finger starting to poke it.

" HAHAHHAHA y-you really think a pole can talk? Baka. Such a fool woman. HAHAHAHA" he answered again while barely breathing due to the entertainment he gets.

I felt someone at my back that's why I straightened my poise.

"  I'll talk to you later", I whispered in the pole. I heard a deep laugh again. I turned my eyes that I regretted to do so.

" You! Why did you push me earlier?! Didn't you know that I almost kissed the floor?! " I shouted decreasing our distance together. He hold back his laugh while looking at me like I am a clown in a birthday party, entertaining him. I walked nearer him and strike the back of his head. It was quite difficult because of our height difference but I'm proud of myself for doing so.

" What was that?!" he asked frowning.

" That was for the incident a while ago", I answer shrugging my shoulders while stepping back. But he started to walk too.

" I-uh, I-yeah I need to go to the dormitory. Bye", I nervously stated and tried running away but his reflexes are way more faster than mine. He forcefully grabbed my right arm causes me to uncontrollably face him. We are now inches away from each other where I can smell him. I can see his angelic face, his long eyebrows, blue eyes,  his pointed nose and soft lips. I gulped at our close proximity. I push him lightly putting enough distance for the both of us.

" W-what do you want?!" I asked again fighting myself to not stutter. I admit he's quite scary when angry. He stared at me knitting his brows. I glance at my wrist where his grip is hurting me. I waited for him to speak but he stayed quite. I take back my eyes in his face, mesmerized by his pretty good shape. He is very tall towering me with olive skin, black hair and blue eyes. No doubt he grew up in an upper class unlike me who grew up in a lower class. I am lost in my thoughts when I feel a flick in my forehead where my swelling grows earlier.

" Ouch, panget ka" , I exclaimed glaring at him.

" What's panget?" he asked confusion written on his face.

" Oh, t-that's uh a Filipino word", I answered biting my lips scared to answer his question.

" Which means?" he added with prying eyes.

" Panget means uhm handsome! Yeah! Handsome! " I almost jump in excitement with my great  and genius choice of word to cover up what it really meant.

" I doubt that",he said still not believing me. I need to get out of here! I can feel getting closer to this guy will only bring me bad luck and I don't need it after what happened to my mom. His grip loosen in my wrist which sends me a que to run.

" Look! There's a flying fairy!" I pointed my hands in the far hall way. When he look at the place I run towards the path leading to the dormitory.

" Until next time panget! " I shouted while running. I didn't dare looking back, afraid to see his reaction. I giggle with the destruction I made. Who would believe a fairy flies in this place? Geez handsome yet fool. He didn't even know that panget means ugly.

" Pfft HAHAHAH" I laugh in that thought without knowing that girls in the dormitory started to look at me like I'm crazy. I raise my hand forming a peace sign and run again in the huge entrance. I saw a white staircase in the left side. While in the right side is a television in front of couches and a table in the right side with a signage " visitor's area". My mouth formed an O, looking with admiration. I also saw a small table in the staircase bottom side with a small book located on top of it.

" Hi, how may I help you?", A mid thirties woman approach me.

" Hello, I'm Tyrel Jenkins." I offer my hand for handshake and she gladly accept it. She nod her head telling me to continue.

" I know it's late but I want to ask if there's still a vacant room or space for me?" I shyly ask with a small smile plastering my face. I hope they had.

" Actually it's not too late, I mean other students came here in the middle of their semester or whenever they want. I'm happy to say that we still have available spaces. Did you already bring your things? "

 I shake my head.

" It's okay. For now, list your personal informations here. I'll personally accompany and help you find your new home and an extension of your family." she smiled reassuring me. I hope that my roommates aren't bitches. I listed my personal informations as well as my guardian's. I gave her the small information book and she leads the way while explaining.

" There are 2 connected buildings for girls. The first 1 is the building A which composes 2 floors and a roof top. The roof top is where most of the students do their laundry but if you want a laundry service you need to go out, there's a laundry shop there. Building B composes of 3 floors. If you notice there's another building standing few meters in the building B, right? That's the boys dormitory. Anyways, don't mind them we have strict policy of no boys allowed in here. Now let's see the rooms. There are 3 beds in a room, 1 comfort room and a study table. The rooms aren't that huge but enough for three. The curfew is 11 pm. At 11 we close our dormitory gates, so it's up to you if you want to sleep in the streets." she explains.

I nod my head a few times telling her I understand what she says. She goes on and on, explaining the rules and regulations. At the end, I chose a room in the second floor of building B.
