16| Second Day (Emma)
I wouldn’t call my first day a success, I was fired and rehired, thrown into a cab, and then kissed against a wall by my boss who then disappeared for the rest of the day. I met another designer in the building, though, David, and had lunch with him, which was very pleasant, but otherwise, the rest of the day was uneventful.
I was sitting at my desk waiting for Matthew to show up for me to ask him about the fundraiser and how I could help. I was wearing a red blouse today and a new skirt that I went out and bought last night, along with some more comfortable heels to last me a full workday – assuming that I don’t get fired today.
My hair was back in a bun, I swallowed my pride this morning and decided that I did enough damage yesterday, I should try to be good today. Besides, I also have a lunch date with David today, and I want to look my best.
However much I hated to admit it, Matthew was right about it being a clean and professional look. I

I had no idea why he was in such a perky mood today, but I was sleep-deprived and in no mood to take any of his shit today. When he brought me into his office and told me to strip I was about ready to kick him where it would hurt the most, but then he pointed me to a changing screen and I found a beautiful dress there to change into.I did a quick check for any camera’s around the place before I undressed and found none, and the screen was enough that he couldn’t peek through in an attempt to see me naked, which made me feel more comfortable.The gown on the hanger was gorgeous, I had never seen something like this before, and I was eager to try it on, curious who would end up wearing it, who had curves like mine.I took a moment after I had changed and pulled the zipper up to look down and admire the material and overall shape of the gown, it was the prettiest thing I think I had ever worn before.“How’s it going back there?

The time spent with Matthew in the office for the fitting when I was acting like the model for the gown was so surreal. He was a whole other person; he was down to earth, kind, and he is kind of genius when he’s in the zone.
