Chapter 38: The Curse

ARIA'S POV

Closing the study behind me, the diary clutched tightly to my chest, I walked as fast as I could back to my room.

Once I got to my room, I shut the door behind me, making sure to bolt it. I walked over to the bed and sat on it, bringing the diary up to my eye level and staring at it.

It seemed like this was my mom's main dairy, based on its appearance. She must have been looking for it, which made her write in the other one I found in her room. At least that was what I deducted. But why was it in Uncle Jeremiah's study and not in her room? Didn't she hide it properly?

This diary was a mighty one, big and heavy. The cover was lilac, decorated with drawings of hearts and sparkles. The spine had been cracked over and over again, and the pages were unable to lay flat because of how many times they had been written inside. But it was mostly still intact. It was so big that I wondered when I would even complete the reading, it surely won't be today.
