Chapter 24

Mia blinked and nodded her little head. She replied in her baby-ish voice, “Max went to get a balloon from Mr. Clown, Mommy. He’s over there.”

Her little fair, tender hand reached out to point at where Max had gone.

Eva immediately went to take a look, but there was no sign of the clown Mia had mentioned.

Lucy had a slight impression of him. “There was someone in a clown suit there giving out toys when we were walking past. But that clown has disappeared.”

Eva was panicking and her eyes were almost red.

Her kids were her life.

If anything happened to them, she would never forgive herself.

Lucy began to panic as well.

After all, she was the one who lost Max. She looked around and noticed the passage by the stairs. She quickly said, “Could he have run this way? Look, a few balloons were dropped around here.”

Eva glanced over and saw them as well.

She said to Lucy, “Can you wait here for Max? There's a chance he might have gone somewhere and will be back later. I’ll take a look
