We didn’t talk about my ‘proposal’ the rest of the time we were at the sanctuary and by the time we we were ready to leave, it had all but been forgotten.

By James at least.

My mind was still reeling about the fact that he wanted to get married. I’d thought it would be a possible deal breaker but he didn’t even blink.

After a tearful goodbye with all the volunteers and an even longer one with Tikiri, we were on our way to Bora Bora.

Since I picked Kenya, James picked our tropical getaway. He said that he’d always wanted to go there, but I suspect that he just wanted to get me in a bikini for a few weeks. Not that I mind, I’ve got a surprise speedo for him in my suitcase.

The flight to Bora Bora is a long one, but I actually manage to sleep the entire way there. Once we landed, James had a car waiting for us that took us to our resort. I was expecting a hotel close to the water, but with James I should have known better.
