"You are wrong Inaya. I am not like David. I am worse than him."
The moment his words hit her hard, Inaya felt someone knocked all the air out of her lungs. Even though she saw a silver line of hope, it was crushed immediately. She scolded herself for raising the hope in her mind.
"No, you aren't." She wailed at his face, making him narrow his eyes immediately with more darkness. There she noticed his blue eyes for the first time. He was never that close or even if he was she was either lost in her miseries or slumped in her darkness. This was the first time he held her close the way a man holds a woman. This was the first time she felt a warmness on her skin. Even though David had touched her in all possible ways, she never felt anything but disgust.

It was quite late at night when Carlos finally finished his leftover work. Jason and his team had done wonderful work by managing the rest of the material to deliver on time.
