Chapter 75

The matron got back to the orphanage from wherever she had gone to a few days later, but the air she met was quite different from the way it was when she left. She felt something was wrong, but she couldn't quite place it right.

She walked to her office and tried to use her key to unlock the door, after a few trials, the door didn't budge. She realized there was a new lock on the door, and she didn't have the key to unlock it. She frowned and went to search for the Assistant Matron.

Maria was in the garden, with some of the kids, helping them do their school assignments, when the Matron stomped towards her with a big frown on her face which made the children frightened.

"You're back," Maria said, with a shaky voice. She would be lying if she said she was not scared of the matron.

"Of course, I am. It looks like someone doesn't want to see me." The matron yelled and the kids were even more frightened.

"Ma'am, could we talk elsewhere? You are frightening the kids." Maria said, noticing
