She got inside, and when Nathaniel joined her, she patted his shoulder.

"I think we did well. You look like you've changed a lot since the last time I saw you in that office," she said, looking at him as she leaned on the armrest to get closer to him.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing, I like your face, big guy. Do you think we'll succeed in this dance?" she asked, her gaze soft and worried.

Nathaniel leaned in to give her a kiss on the lips and gently caressed her cheek.

"Yes, if we both believe it. And we have enough signs to believe it. But are you sure you don't need me to keep you company?"

"No, I'm going shopping with Alicia. I really need to clear my head. Plus, I miss my friend."

"Okay, but I don't think your mother and Edwin would approve of me letting you go out..." Nathaniel said, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel.
