"I don't think they'll ever come to terms with this," Penelope said with a sigh as they walked out of the room.

Liam didn't respond immediately, instead, he stared at her for a moment, as if searching for words to comfort her. "We'll figure something out," he finally said, though the uncertainty in his voice betrayed his lack of conviction.

As they made their way back outside the building. Liam couldn't shake the feeling of failure that weighed heavy on him. He had hoped that the Lycan Council would be more open-minded and receptive to their proposal, but it seemed like they were just as doubtful as the werewolves had been.

After some minutes they were called back and, they returned to the council room, both Liam and Penelope ready to defend their proposal with all the evidence and passion they could muster.
