Time had passed since the incident of Bleu almost killing a member of the village and it still surprises me till this day how understanding the rest of the villagers were. I had thought that for sure, we would have been either alienated, kicked out of the village or even worse reported to the head of the village.

That may have put us in harm’s way as the head of the village, although a Baron, is still a noble with strong ties to the royal capital and to the higher society. No doubt that he must have heard the news about my disappearance. But thank moon goddess that was not the case. We were sure lucky that the males that Bleu almost killed were not first time offenders and that they have already built a reputation for themselves in the village.

I adjust the straw hat that I had in my head and wipe the beads of sweat on my fore head. The one thing that I will never be able to forget from that day was just how vulnerable Bleu looked. All he cared about was what I thought and wha
