Reunited with a friend

Instead of staying idle or continuing to hear the awful stories Klaus was telling me about Sofia, their mother and how Modan had become a shadow of itself under Tristan's reigned. I grabbed the book of spells and began going through it. It was all gibberish. I couldn't understand anything. I focused more, but nothing. Out of frustration, I threw the book at the wall, yelling out loud. They all rushed into the room.

"What's going on?" Lyra looked at me, then at the book lying on the floor. She went ahead to pick it up.

I didn't say a word. My head was in my hands. Everything was too much. When will I leave like a normal person?

"How is Alex?" Has he woken up still? It's been hours?" That's all I was interested in.

Orion's mother shook her head. "He hasn't moved. He is still breathing but more faintly now."

I couldn't hold my tears back anymore. I sobbed. "Am I going to lose my family because of a stupid curse? It's from one problem to another."
