A Beta's Affection

"Where is your mate?" He yelled.

Although Alpha Kane had been fierce in interrogating me, he hadn't struck me. He only threatens to but hasn't done it even once in the twenty-four hours that I was brought here.

He wasn't considering my emotional state, because he took the kids away again.

"Dead," I repeated. I was getting tired of this interrogation. It is like he expects my answer to change.
