Chapter 38

When the Moon reached its peak, she found me climbing inside my wagon. I wanted to forget everything that happened today and… just be alone. It might sound weird, but it felt right to get to “meet” my parents, the people who gave me life, in the only place I knew and called it “home”.

As I entered the wagon I turned on the lamp before I made myself comfortable on the haystack that used to be my bed. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath to steady my raging heart, before I looked at the seal that had two wolves embracing the Moon.

I traced slowly with my fingers the letters engraved on the envelope “to my daughter” pushing back my tears. This was written by one of my parents…my heart ached thinking that I might never get a chance to know them.
