My heart raced as I pushed the ignition button on my car, determined to get to her side as quickly as possible. The thought of Kiera in pain was unbearable, and I knew I needed to be there for her no matter what.

"Daddy, what happened to mommy?" I tried to keep my voice steady. I didn't scare my daughter. She was only six years old, and I didn't want to alarm her with the news of her mother's accident.
