Chapter 32
Mira felt like her heart stopped for a moment, her mind and body froze as she stared ahead. The sudden explosion was like the cold water pouring down her head, a slap to reality.
The dust, branches, soil, and pebbles flying randomly caused it to be hard to see what happened. Mira frantically looked around, searching for Arlan's figure amidst the chaos.
Dave's thunderous roar made her heart sink. It was full of fury, and Mira knew well who was the cause of it. He had the hold of Arlan's life in his grasp.
The dust hadn't settled, but Mira suddenly had an inkling from the faint connection of the Goddess's blessing. Without caring about the curse inflicting her body, Mira trudged to the source.
"Let's go together." Azarias's voice sounded in her ear, and the next moment, the painful feeling from the aftershocks of the explosion was warded off. She numbly stayed in Azarias's embrace until less than a minute later, they arrived at the scene.
