Chapter 34

Sam ran out of Leigh’s room. She was hurrying back to her room to get her hands on her phone and call Rocky ASAP.

Though Leigh had agreed to come out of the shadows and be the real Leigh Michaels, she could not persuade her best friend from leaving for Somerset.

“She’s going home.” She told Rocky over the phone.

“Stall her. Don’t let her leave my house. I am a few blocks away.”

“Where have you been, Rocky?” Sam could not help but ask. She is becoming quite exasperated with the pair with their cat-and-mouse game.

“I think you better stop hiding.”

“I am not hiding.” Rocky’s abrupt reply came through the phone.

“So what are you doing?” Sam demanded.

“Err…”

“What?”

“I am trying to avoid temptation. Leigh is one big temptation.” Rocky admitted in a barely inaudible voice.

Sam laughed.

“You are a fool.” Sam breathed on the other line.

Silence.

There was tension after that. Sam realized that she said something she shouldn’t and caught her tongue. She knew what would come next
