I don't want to see her here

Harriet arrived home that day from school and proceeded to her room like always. Although her mom was in the living room, she didn't greet or say anything to her. Monica did not mind, it was not a new development and she didn't really care.

“How was school?” She asked looking over at her daughter.

“Good,” Harriet said, rushing to meet the stairs.

“Uhm, Harriet?” Her mother called. Harriet groaned, she was rushing to her room because of this purpose. Her mother wouldn't just let her be.

“Yes?” She turned around her met her mother’s eyes which looked like that of Lily. Anytime she saw Lily with those hazel eyes that looked like her mother’s, her hatred for her just grew.

“Did... Did you by chance see Lily in school today?” She asked, her voice almost a stutter.

“No. If you care about Lily so much, go to the school. You could apply to even be her class teacher,” Harriet said with an irritated tone.
