Chapter 45: The Laidback Lee

"Lee!"

He looked like he might have been in a slight scuffle before being here. His clothes crumpled and even ripped in a few places. Some cut marks were already healing on his head and arms.

I tore from Erix's arms and ran down towards him, but he caught my arms before I got two steps away and held an unsure expression on his face.

"So it's true, he does know you?" Erix asked.

"He is my cousin," I stated, removing my arms from his grasp, and this time Erix didn't stop me.

Lee's arms reached through the bars and hugged me. I didn't fail to notice his look and sighed in relief as he released in my presence.

"What are you doing here? Is everyone alright? Are you hurt? Who sent you?"

The questions were tumbling from my mouth, one right after the other, before he could answer them.

"We've been asking him that for the past hour and he wouldn't answer. He said he only wanted to talk to you. He claimed you knew each other," Wyatt interrupted.

I nodded in reply, but I didn't face him.
