Chapter 44: Interrogation

We drive past the gates and we arrive at the manor. There is a rush to everything we do, and everyone around is moving and getting something done; I see other people arriving as well in cars. The usual staff is tense and rushing through the house, I even see Deidre and Solange standing nervously at the entrance door.

Ro stops the car and gets down quickly, I open the door and he is already extending a hand to help me out. His arm tightens around my waist as he looks around, scanning our surroundings. We walk to the front door and we stop, watching them.

He lets go of me briefly, and walks to the both of them; they stare at each other for a while before finally, he opens his arms and they both walk into his embrace.

"An attack on me and your Luna is an attack on our pack. And you, all of you, are too precious to me," he kisses the top of their heads and I don't feel jealous at all, I find the gesture protective and endearing.
