Chapter 47: A Glimpse of the Past - Part 1

I leave my phone on the side table and I try to wrap my head about what I am going to do; I need to go back to work at some point, it is part of who I am and a part of what I made for myself.

The question is: will Ro understand? I hope he does, and I am walking around the manor while I wait for his return. My nerves are getting the best of me and I haven't managed to eat yet.

Mei offers me something to eat for the third time and I kindly reject it. "You need to eat, I can hear your stomach growl from here."

I roll my eyes at her and chuckle. "Of course you can, all of you hear everything."

"Everything but your thoughts. A privilege if I do say so myself," she smiles at me and I perk a brow.

"Is it that bad?" My concern is genuine.

"Only if you are near the two evil wives, I would much rather hear your thoughts than theirs!" We both laugh and I finally take a seat and grab the sandwich she offered to me.

Now I hear my own stomach proclaim that it wants more than just a bite
