“I hate the way he treats me, but at the same time I understand, everything he’s ever done was for our sake and safety, I just don’t see the same kind of looming threat he is convinced follows us everywhere.” Will ranted much to Cybel’s surprise, it was the first time he spoke of himself and she dare not interrupt, he was still a faceless voice to her, but she felt closer to him.
“He loves you.” She didn’t even have to know his father to know it was true, her own father sometimes made decisions that angered her, but thinking back she realized it was only for her own good, “Parents often see the dangers we are too naive to notice, they know the bad friends and the weaknesses we carry.”

Will’s four paws skidded to a halt even before he saw the arrow whizzing his way, the group of wolves behind him, coming just as much of an abrupt stop. The hour ticked by at a snail’s pace, the sun was already high in the sky and the morning’s patrol was now a morning tragedy, Max didn’t know how to face his pack. Will shivered, suddenly becoming aware of the icy floor beneath him. Cracking his eyes open, Will noticed the bars beside him, the cell was empty apart from an empty bowl that looked more fit to be a dog bowl than anything else, beyond the bars was another set of steel barricades that didn’t appear to be housing anyone. “Hello? Is anyone there?” He called, feeling more like a college girl in a horror movie than a prisoner. “Save your energy, they’re not coming for you pretty boy.” The girl deadpanned, sarcasm dripping from her voice like venom. “Who are you?” Will inquired, easily ignoring her tone. “A prisoner, duh.” She wasn’t the friendliest person he’s met, but he was glad he wasn’t alone. “Way to state the obvious.
