The rest of the night was a blur of dancing, laughing and having fun.
She stumbled out from the town hall just after midnight with her arm around her mum's shoulders. Asher and Grim were already waiting, half asleep in the car."Let's get you home and into bed" Miranda chuckled at her tipsy daughter.
"Woohoo, best party ever", Nueva shouted, punching the air over her head in a victorious gesture.

"It sure was, and hopefully, you won't regret drinking all that champagne in the morning?" Miranda agreed, doing her best to get Nueva into the car seat without bumping into anything.

Nueva felt the bright light and warmth from the sun on her face before she opened her eyes.She was lying on her back with her tall, slender body resting on a soft mattress; the silky sheets felt cold against her bare skin. Alpha Gray's pickup truck slid into the muddy ground as he came to an abrupt stop outside Perla's cottage. Nueva was still naked, sitting on the ground next to Perla, holding a piece of her ripped clothes against the bleeding wound on her upper leg.Perla leaned in and whispered, "There is a blanket right inside the front door.
