Scene 68 : War (1)

Michael tapped his fingers. Joe who was beside him sorting some documents.

"Isn't this weird?"

"Yes?"

"That guy reaction. Arthur."

Joe seemed to recall the awkward moment when leaving the Lesnerg residence.

"Every family has a secret." Joe answered flatly.

Michael tapped his fingers again. It was possible that Lilian had pre-arranged with Arthur to avoid it. But seeing Arthur's reaction, while subtle, was no less surprised than the Duke and Duchess.

His instincts told him that what Lilian said was a joke.

But he couldn't just prove it. Digging into Lesnerg's secrets was like entering the darkness. Nothing could reveal what they were hiding. Michael clearly knew one person who could keep a secret until death.

"Your Highness?" Joe handed the paper in his hand. With an envelope. A party invitation.

Michael looked at the moss-green envelope. “Marchioness Quintz sent another party invitation.”
