CHAPTER 2

"Wake up" a stern voice yelled before a bucket of ice-cold water was dumped over my head.

I was awake but I couldn't move because my body was exhausted. And I couldn't tell them I was awake.

"You bitch" he grabbed my hair and yanked my head up so I was looking up at him.

"You're awake. That's good" he let go of my hair and my head dropped because I couldn't hold it up.

"I don't know why Alpha Kaden will go this far to punish you but I must tell you that I enjoy it"

If there was anyone as bad as Kaden, it was his beta, Philip. Philip had authority as a beta and he liked to show it in every way. He went out of his way to torment those he considered weaker than himself but was a complete pussy when he had to talk in front of the other men.

It was stupid for Kaden to have such a weakling as a beta but since they were long-time friends with the same shitty character, they stuck together.

"The Alpha is waiting," a guard said and the chains holding me up were loosened. My body was falling but Philip caught me before I hit the ground.

I didn't know if I should be repulsed that he touched me or thankful that he didn't let me fall to the front.

My repulse overshadowed any inkling of gratitude the moment he groped me and muttered under his breath. I didn't have the energy to get away from him so I had to endure it.

I had been locked up underground for days. I didn't know how many days but it felt like forever in there. Chained and beaten without any food and just enough water to keep me going.

My eyes were halted closed as they dragged me through the hallway and into a room. From the furniture, I instantly recognized it to be Kaden's office.

"She stinks" I heard Eunice's voice.

"You wanted to see her" Kaden snapped. So that's why he brought me out.

They started going back and forth between each other and I zoned out. I just wanted to get some sleep. My peace only lasted for a few seconds when I was harshly slapped.

The force sent me crashing to the ground and my lip split from the impact. The metallic taste of blood filled my mouth and I tried to spit out but Eunice was crouching low, staring at me straight in the eyes.

"I wish he would kill you and you'll disappear from our lives forever. Filthy whore" she stomped in my fingers and then she stormed away, leaving me with the men.

Eunice never said she knew about what her mate had done to me. But I had a feeling she knew. She probably didn't make a fuss because it would be humiliating if word got out. That her husband chose to sleep with the filthy pack scum.

Her attitude towards me only got worse. She called me a mate snatcher often and yelled that I was a whore.

"You made me torture you" Kaden brushed his palm over my hair slowly.

"I didn't want to do that but you pushed me. I had to teach you a lesson. You understand that don't you"

I wanted to scream in his face. Tell and scratch his eyes out until he bowled in pain but I had no energy.

"The next time you try something as stupid as that, I'm going to break your legs and you'll never be able to walk or run again. And then you'll be by my side forever" he kissed my forehead and I gagged.

"Take her to her room" he commanded and once again, I was picked from the floor and dragged to the site room I was given at their home.

Philip and his men dropped me without a care in the world and slammed the door as they departed, leaving me bruised on the cold hard floor.

It took days for me to get better. Food was dropped in my room every day and I gobbled it up quickly because I wanted to survive.

My injuries would take a longer time to heal but I could manage. I was back to working my ass off daily and avoiding all the trouble. After my last ordeal, I won't be attempting another escape in the meantime.

Kaden didn't try anything with me. He was too occupied planning a banquet that the king would be attending. And I was too glad that something else had his attention.

The day of the banquet arrived and I was forbidden from going there. I had to tidy up the alpha's home and get dinner ready for their return.

I didn't plan to sleep in the house though, so I was doing everything I could to leave before they would return for the night.

Halfway through my duties, Kaden came into the house. He had that awful smile on his face and I already knew what was coming. All I had was a spatula in my hand. I knew I wouldn't overpower him, but when my body was so weak and still healing from injuries. But I tried to cause as much damage as I could.

He stalked me like a prey while I looked for a way out. Just as I was an inch away from the door, he attacked. I slammed my elbow into his side and hit his face with the spatula.

He went for my hair and I pushed at his neck with the spatula. He slammed his whole weight on me and we went crashing into the wall. He pressed himself against me, pulling at his pants and I kept hitting his stomach.

I landed one punch and he groaned, pulling away from me for only a brief second and then he smacked my face and pushed me to the floor.

He climbed over me, tearing my clothes away and removing his pants. I pushed against his arms pressing me to the floor but he only tightened his hold.

"Stay at a damn place you fucking bitch" he smacked my face again.

At that moment, the door flew open and Eunice was standing in the doorway with her best friend Camilla.
