I couldn't believe what I was seeing as I watched the lycan catch his breath and then brush the snow off his long hair and thick animal skin coat.

"Why did you want to see me?" Next, I asked him a question while narrowing my eyes at him. I still had my sword in my hand and was sitting up straight, so I could hit him if he tried to do something funny.

"I just wanted to check on you and make sure everything was okay. Where's the problem?" After he cleaned up the snow, he asked me to come back. His loose hair hung over his forehead while he tied a big bun out of his dreadlocks. I sat there and watched him do his small grooming routine. As he worked on his hair, my wolf was already noticing how his muscles moved. I thought I had seen him do that before.

I wasn't going to just believe that. Why would the king of all chauvinists travel through the mountains in the dark during a snowstorm to see a she-wolf that he would never consider his equal? I knew that he had a strong reason for coming
