Raven squatted down next to Amber and cleared away her hair from her neck. She lowered her head, her fangs extended, and just as she was about to bite into Amber's neck, her eyes rose and she looked up at James through her lashes. She then punctured Amber's skin, sinking her fangs into her flesh and releasing the poison. When Raven pulled back, we were all standing and watching them. ”Now what?” I asked when she stood again. ”Now we wait for her to die.” Raven said and wiped her mouth with her thumb then sucked the blood off it. I winced and Lydia hulked. ”What? I'm a vampire, remember,” she said and rolled her eyes. Raven didn't feed on humans, only blood bags so this must’ve been euphoric for her. I walked to the pool table and placed my hands on the surface, leaning back against it. I wasn't going anywhere, not until we found out how Amber would be. She'd wake up, but as a vampire, everything would be different. Werewolves are taught to hate vampires. Always have been,
”I killed my mother, not because of what she had done to me but because I knew what she would do to you. You’re my family, this, these people, you’re all my family. When he hurt you on the field, he sentenced you to death and I couldn’t…I couldn't let you die, so instead, you were turned. We can't be without you, Amber, nobody here can. Your brothers,” She said and Amber's eyes shakily found her brothers. ”They need you, you three are what’s left of your family and they wouldn't survive without you. Nobody would. Maybe turning you was selfish, because we wanted you to live, but letting you die wasn't an option.” Malia said sternly and let go of Amber's hand. ”So, this will take time and it will be painful and hard but we will get through this. We will help you, Raven will help you adjust to this new life but in the meantime, nobody is going anywhere. We are all here with you,” Raven cleared her throat. ”I actually have to go back, I do have my own responsibilities in my clan,” sh
1 week later. A week had gone by since the war, Amber had adjusted quite well to the life of a vampire. The one thing that had been the hardest and continued to be was the fact that Stella was gone. Amber told me how she sometimes tries to communicate with her wolf but then remembers that she’s alone, there's no one in her mind anymore. I know the feeling, I had only had Xena for a few months and had gotten so used to having her there, the biggest difference was however the fact that I got my wolf back, Amber wasn't going to get Stella back. She had nailed almost every vampire ’super power’ there was, including speed, coercion, healing, and strength. Amber was now the one teaching Lucas, who wasn't as thrilled that the student had become the teacher but he seemed happy nevertheless with the bond he had created with Amber. Damien, my brother, had grown close to Alex, the two were running together, playing pool, and whatnot. Alex and his mate seemed inseparable and the big red bit
When Amber and James returned, we met them downstairs. Amber looked in awe as Malia walked toward her. Alex and his mate came down the stairs, he was holding Isabella and all three of them looked amazing.Alex had taken his role of uncle as an absolute. There wasn't a day that had gone by without him holding her or making sure that she was alright. No one else had been able to hold her, nobody outside the family, he and James were very alike in that aspect. Very protective.”You look beautiful,” Amber said breathlessly as she wrapped her arms around Malia.I bit my bottom lip and hooked my arm with James’s.We walked to the clearing where Lisa, Jackson, Trisha, Raven, Lucas Lydia, and Micheal were waiting. Amber wiped away a tear as she saw what we had done.”Oh wow,” Amber said.”It looks amazing,” James whispered in my ear. Malia guided Amber onto the cliff and grabbed her hands. ”There is nothing I can say that will ever measure up to how I feel about you, but I promise to show
~Malia~ I was fighting the Beta, his strength was beyond extraordinary. If this was the Beta, I could only imagine the strength that the Alpha beheld. I had to take him down, if not, I was the one to be doomed. He dug his claws into my neck making me stagger backwards. I wanted to shift but I couldn’t, I could end up hurting the others. Those who weren't a part of the deal, those who were innocent. I got a grip around the Betas throat and was about to extract my claws, digging them into his flesh and ending this. One out of three Knights would have fallen, making it easier to take on the other two. But then, in the midst of chaos and blood, a scent filled my nostrils, enveloping my body and senses. It smelled of strawberries and green tea. I looked around and my eyes locked with the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. I let go of the Beta in my hand and he looked up at me, baffled but made no attempt to attack when he saw where my eyes stopped. "Mate," the words slipped out
~Amber~ A week. It had been a whole week since the last time I saw Malia, which had been right after the war. She said she had to leave, but that she’d be back, soon. And I hadn't seen or heard a word from her since. The waiting was driving me insane, I needed her. She was my mate, it wasn't supposed to be this hard, was it? After the war, Malia came with me to meet my family and the pack. They were all very welcoming and didn't show the slightest bit of disrespect. It was a great fear of mine, the outing of me wanting to be with a woman. I wondered how they would all take it, it isn't very usual amongst werewolves that you love another of the same gender. But I had known since I was young. I never had the kid crushes on guys, it was always on girls. One girl at the school I went too, I would day dream about for years, hopi
~Amber~ Avery walked in to the dining room with Lydia by her side. Her body seemed relaxed but she held something in her eyes, she looked angry, worried as her eyes scanned the surroundings. When her eyes landed on me, she smiled softly and came up to us. She took her seat next to James and continued eating. ”Everything alright?” My brother asked his mate as he placed a kiss on her head. ”Everything is fine, Lydia just wanted to see if we needed any help with the ceremony, but I told her me and Amber had it covered.” Avery said and winked at me. All the planning started to resume in my head from that comment as the color pallets and decorations were set in place in my imagination. ”We could use some help with the decorations,” I said and looked at Lydia. She was Averys best friend and I knew she wanted to help. ”The more the merrier,” Avery said with a wide smile. ”Great, have you thought of a dress?” Lydia asked giddily. Avery opened her mouth to answer but was interrupt
”What are you saying, child?” Carlos asked her as he rose from his seat. Amber sighed. ”Malia and I are mated. I don't care what history our families have or what happened in the past. If she can be okay with it then so can I. I love her, uncle.” She said. Carlos walked around the study and stopped in front of a book shelf. He brought out a smaller journal-looking one with a black leather coverage. ”Here, this will come in handy,” he said and held it out to Amber. ”Uncle-” ”No. I'm sorry, I know what this must be like for you but I cannot dive into history. Some things are meant to be left unspoken.” He said. ”But she’s my mate,” Amber defended, sounding frustrated. ”You’d do well to reject her, Amber. Some things leave unspeakable marks on a person and sometimes on many. Things that cannot be undone. Some fight are not worth fighting.” I could feel Ambers body shaking and her wolf begging to come out. Carlos was telling her to reject her mate. No wolf would accept t
