Chapter Twenty-Three

The sun peeping through the blinds or the feeling of  presence in the room woke me from my deep slumber. I glanced at Damien sitting on the edge of the bed, and groaned, throwing a pillow over my head. 

“We have to  start moving. I’m sure they’re tracking you… and the trail of blood you left behind.” 

My stomach clenched at the scene I had left behind. 

“I killed someone…” I said softly on the mattress. 

Damine grabbed my ankles pulling me off the bed and onto my feet, turning my head to face him. 

“You protected yourself. Don’t ever think otherwise” he said as I pushed away from him.
