Chapter 20 - Running

Libby POV

I’m pushing my body to the limit that I have never done in my life. Not even when the police invaded the farm..this was different. I was in danger of immediate kidnap or death.

I take no notice of the stones that kick back at my shins, the rocks that I almost stumble over. My lungs were burning from my panting but I keep running because my life depended on it.

If they wanted me they were going to have to earn it.

Judging by their fast yet not supernatural quick pace, these were human men. Not werewolves which mean I still stood a chance.

If I could just get somewhere and hide, they won’t be able to smell me like a werewolf can. I just need coverage and a safe place.

I keep running, pushing my body over the limits. Being captured was not an option for me, until I realise whilst still running I had run into an old quarry. My heartbreaks when I notice the dead end coming up ahead of me.

I stop at the high wall that surrounds the quarry, there’s not a chance in hell of climb
