Chapter 44: Painful Goodbye

It felt more like a shadow of a nightmare than a memory. Beth could not remember much of it but she surely knew that it happened. She had scars on her skin to remind her of it and she had a man.

Philip reminded her of the incident. If it wasn't of him, she might have forgotten everything at all. It was not an easy journey and she remembered how every patient went through in her life and it created a trauma.

In fact, she could never forget the nightmare. She lost so much on those - patients who thrived and the blood, she still dreamed of them. The gush of blood as if it was flooding and the screaming and the smoke and the arid smell of burnt blood.

If it wasn't for Philip, she might have died already while sleeping. One time, he was not there with her, so, it was Mark who woke her up. Her sweat was running down her whole body as gravity pulled it down of her while her voice was inaudible. She wanted to talk but her body refused her command. So, she struggled.<
