"Are you Asher's mate?" One of them asked, and I nodded my head subconsciously. Their gaze tightened as they turned to me with an angry look on their faces. They stared at me as though they wanted to devour me.

It seemed Asher had a blood feud with them. I was not surprised because someone as powerful and ruthless as him must have had a lot of enemies who wished to kill him.

What do I do? How would I survive? When would this suffering end? I asked myself with a frustrated look on my face.

I whined and bit on my lower lips as a whip landed on my shoulder, opening the wound that was healing. I tried as much as possible not to show my weakness, not to cry.
