Chapter 52: The sacred oath

"Lady…" she coughed out dark blood and fell unconscious on the floor. I rushed toward her.

"Who sent you? Lady what?" I asked in a cold tone but she couldn't hear me anymore.

I shook her body vigorously but she didn't make a move. I leaned closer to her and placed my finger gently beside her neck slightly above her jawbone.

I let out an exasperated sigh and dropped my hand from her neck. I have just confirmed she's died.

But why? Why does she have to die? It's quite unfortunate that she had to die when she was about to reveal to whoever forced or made her poison my mate's drink.
