Chapter 96: Not Quite Right

I couldn’t explain it. I hadn’t had any dreams, or visions, but somehow, I just knew it was the Nightshade Pack, and that knowledge terrified me.

We came back here because we had Jacinda, and she was going to help defend against any alphas who came seeking the power they thought I could grant them. Now that Jacinda was not a part of the picture, I had no idea how things was going to play out.

It occurred to me then, that while we were with Alpha Cornelis at the Night Stalkers Pack, Jacinda had said that it was the Nightshade Pack that was attacking, but we ended up with Alpha Kareem of the Mystic Shadow Pack.

Was Jacinda wrong? Were both packs there? Maybe she lied to us and knew it wasn’t them. Not knowing where her loyalties lie, or if she even had any, was the part that was hardest for me. I trusted her, and a part of me still wanted to, but a much larger part of me was wary of her and anything she’s ever told me.

I forgot to post Friday's chapter again, so you get two today! One now, and one later tonight. I will not be posting a chapter this Friday because of the holiday. I've been working a full time job and two part time jobs in addition to writing, and I promised my kids we would do some baking and decorating this week. I'm sorry but that just does't leave enough time to get a chapter done for Friday. I will be back to a regular posting schedule next Monday.
