"Yes. Alpha Connor mentioned that he'd deduced it was him and alerted you on the day of the attack."

"Indeed," I mutter, my head reeling as details of that day replay like a taped record. Could it be that Mikael had a hand in the blind attack? No, wait. Wade's already ruled that out. Fabian was not the one who cut into our territories, so Mikael should be crossed off my list of suspicions, whether or not he is friends with Fabian. But what if...

"My father also said Fabian was the Alpha of Amengal. Is that true?"

"Yes and no. He was the former Alpha of Amengal, but his brother, Falcon, recently usurped him." He stills as he scrutinises the emotion I've failed to curb from seeping into my expression.
