Chapter 68: Now and Forever

WHEN I opened my eyes again, I found myself lying in my room inside my parents’ house. Luther was not by my side although I could still smell his scent. He was just somewhere close to me. It was three in the morning when I glanced at the clock.

I sat on the bed and noticed that the glass door inside the room that would lead to the balcony was open. I stood up and noticed that my hands and legs were neatly bandaged. The elder in our pack was every wolf’s physician. In two to three days, my body would be as good as new.

I put on a robe, picked up a blanket in the rack, and quietly followed Luther to the balcony. I found him in his pajamas. He was sitting on a rattan chair while cupping his forehead. My heart went out to him. It was obvious he hadn’t slept. He must have wanted to breakdown since yesterday but he had to postpone it for my sake.
