LIA'S POV

I could feel my heart pounding in my chest as Raya approached me, claiming to be my sister. The thought of having a sibling was almost too much for me to bear, but at the same time, I couldn't shake the feeling of distrust.

Asher noticed my discomfort and stepped forward, telling Raya to move away from me. I was grateful for his intervention, but the mere thought of being so close to someone who might have been a part of the experiments made me want to run.

The Lycan King offered for us to dine with him, but I immediately protested. "Asher, we might be the next dead people," I said, trying to keep the fear out of my voice.

Asher tried to laugh it off, but the look on his face told me that he was just as worried as I was. The thought of dining with the very people who might have been responsible for the deaths of our Pack members was frightening.
