ALPHA ASHER'S POV

I entered the Packhouse and walked past the guards stationed at the door. My head was bowed low in thought, going through the conversation I had with Lia earlier.

I couldn't shake off the feeling that she was right about the Lycan King, but I also couldn't ignore the fact that we needed his support. My thoughts were interrupted by the sight of General Edgar walking towards me.

"Good evening, Alpha Asher. I'm glad to see you're back safely," he said in a formal tone, bowing slightly.

"Thank you, Edgar. I was just about to ask you how have things been in my absence buy I've been very busy and stressed as of late?" I asked, as he handed me a stack of reports.

"No threats, Alpha. Everything has been peaceful," he replied, and I heaved a sigh of relief.
