32. Heartwarming

ASHER’S POV

That was when my eyes caught something from a distance. A figure jumped down from one of the trees and began to come towards me. I wondered if something had gone wrong and they all had been taken captive. I hoped not, because they were the strongest warriors I had.

William's scent continued to get closer and stronger than ever, and the fact that he hadn't responded to me through the mind link pissed me and scared me at the same time. It scared me because they might have been attacked, which was perhaps the trap Alpha Ryan was talking about when I met him in his room.

I turned around impatiently, waiting to catch his aura that was now fading slowly. My eyes began to flit and observe every part of the woods. I remained in my position, my confidence unwavering. Shutting off every source of panic I continued to scan the area in anticipation of my Beta who seemed to be playing tricks on me.
