94. Chaos

Along with my guards, we entered the Pack as soon as we were done burying the dead warriors we found in the boundary while returning. My heart was heavy with the loss of my warriors but I had to push that aside for now. Something more to it was amiss and I could feel it in my bones.

As we entered the Pack, I couldn't help but notice the sadness in the eyes of my people. Despite their happiness at seeing me, I could see the fear and uncertainty in their gaze. I knew then that something very terrible must have happened while I was away.

"I pray Lia is ok, or something very bad is going to happen to somebody." I clenched my teeth, noting that the mat bond didn't snap in anyway. So nothing must have happened to her. But with the occasional rise and fall in emotions, you never knew. You could never be too sure.
