After the attack on the school happened Symphony finally agreed to stay home for now until this person was caught. When they got back to the mansion Alexander helped her up to her room and told her to rest, he would handle things. When he left her, she was slowly slipping into sleep. He hoped that she would have a restful sleep but with what she witnessed today he doubted that would happen.
He made his way to his office while he scrolled through the numbers in his phone when he finally found the one, he was looking for he dialed it. It rang 3 times before the voicemail picked up.
“Hey, Its Alexander. I need your help. Please call me back at this number.” Alexander left the message.
While he waited for a call back, he sent a message to his tracker to see if he had found anything and he also sent a message to Gavin to have him send over the security footage from today at the school, they arrived shortly after. Alexander spent hours going through the footage from that morning frame by frame, trying to find something. The only thing that he found was what looked like the guards’ fighting ghosts, there were no other people seen fighting besides his guards and he did not like that one bit. That meant that the attackers had help from some other being to camouflage themselves. This spelled trouble. If the attackers could be cloaked, then they would be untraceable and could show up and take Symphony without anyone even noticing their presence.
Alexander ran up to Symphony’s room and she was fast asleep. He texted Gavin and let him know what he had found and told Gavin to not disturb him. Alexander then sat on the couch by the window and watched over Symphony.
Symphony had a restless sleep, she kept seeing the guards that Alexander had put in place to protect her being killed by some unseen force and it scared her. She was relieved when she saw Alexander walk into the gym looking for her. She didn’t know what he was doing there because she thought that he had went home but she didn’t care, he was her protector.
When she awoke, she was taken back by the figure of Alexander sleeping on the couch in her room. She didn’t realize that she had been out for so long, when she fell asleep it was still light out and now it was pitch black. She gently shook Alexander awake and he apologized for falling asleep as he wanted to keep her safe. Symphony chuckled and rolled her eyes at him.
“Come on sleepy head, Ill make us some dinner” Symphony giggled as she headed out of her bedroom.
Now it was Alexanders turn to roll his eyes.
“Hey, she’s a good cook” Dax remarked
“That she is” Alexander quietly agreed.
When he arrived in the kitchen, he could already smell the meatloaf cooking. His stomach rumbled. Before he was able to step into the kitchen he was stopped by a serious looking Gavin.
“We need to talk” Gavin said sternly.
“We will. But first Symphony made meat loaf and it would be a shame to eat it cold.”
“It can’t wait” Gavin insisted.
Alexander at that point was getting a little heated from the way Gavin was talking to him. He knew what he had to say was important, but it could wait until after dinner. He gave Gavin a look that made him cower; he went to say something but decided against it as Symphony had come to get Alexander for dinner. Alexander did not need Symphony knowing what was going on at the moment, he knew that she was under enough stress.
They ate in silence, which made Symphony uneasy. Very seldom did Alexander try to hide anything from her but tonight was different. She knew that he wanted to protect her but at the same time she hated being shut out, especially when it concerned her. She also noticed that the normally cool and collected Gavin was on edge. Something was definitely up, and she was going to get to the bottom of it. Her wolf agreed but wanted her safe as well.
After they all finished eating Symphony started to clean up the kitchen. Both Alexander and Gavin kept giving her a look like they should tell her what was on their minds. She cleared the table and started on the dishes and thought she could hear them whispering in the dining room. She tried to listen in with her wolf hearing but even that did not work, stupid Lycan’s, she thought to herself.
When she made her way back to the dining room the boys had stopped talking altogether. She was a little annoyed by this but when she saw Alexanders face, she decided not to say anything. From the looks of thing Alexander and Gavin had been having a heated discussion about something and they didn’t look pleased with each other. Symphony shrugged her shoulders and told them she was heading up to take a shower and head to bed. They nodded.
“I will be having extra guards outside your door and also on your balcony tonight” Alexander said before she left the room “I know you don’t like the idea, but it is to keep you safe.”
She nodded and headed up to her room.
“Now that she is gone, we can continue our earlier discussion in my office” Alexander told Gavin as he stood.
They made their way to Alexanders office on the other side of the house, away from prying ears.
“Now what was so important that you forgot who you were speaking with” Alexander asked Gavin, a little annoyed.
“I apologize about that sir, I forgot myself.” Gavin said before he continued “The attack that happened today, it was no random attack. Whoever attacked the school had been planning this for awhile and had outside help. They were not able to be tracked by our best trackers and from what I saw on the videos our guards had no way to see them. This is not good sir, for any of us. The only ones that can pull something like this off are the witches.”
Alexander furrowed his brow; he hadn’t really given the witches a thought he automatically came to the conclusion it was rogues.
“I never gave it a thought that the witches would be involved in this. I knew that whatever had masked the attackers had to be a strong force, but I thought that it was just the rogues. The possibility of the witches makes sense because with their power they can do anything, including making the guards think they are being attacked by an unseen force. They don’t however hang up their victims and attach notes to their bodies that was definitely the work of rogues” Alexander said.
Alexander then sent Gavin away. He needed to think and come up with a plan. He hoped that the message he had sent earlier would be responded to sooner rather than later. This needed the big guns called in the only person that he knew was that qualified was his uncle, Damion.
Damion, Alexander’s uncle, is known throughout the world as being the guy you call if you really need help. Alexander has never had to call him for anything and even if he could have used his help, he didn’t want it. Damion is his father’s brother and surprisingly enough hated what Alexander’s father did to him and his mother. He was nasty and ruthless when he needed to be but had a soft spot for his nephew. While Alexander waited for the call back from Damion, he let his mind wander to Symphony. He hated the fact that someone was trying to get to her, granted he was no better than the ones after her considering that he killed her parents and kidnapped her for her power. Things had begun to change in his mind about her since she was growing up. Yes, he knew that she was powerful in her own right and would make him unstoppable but there was something more happening. He wasn’t sure why but since she first shifted there had been a nagging feeling in his chest that he sh
The following days became a waiting game for Alexander. His uncle was getting in touch with a friend of his that could cover Symphony’s scent and maybe help with the attacks. Thankfully there hadn’t been any attacks or anymore threats while she remained at home, its almost if they knew she was with Alexander and would be harder to threaten. Symphony was starting to go a little stir crazy. It had been a week since the attacks at the school had happened and she missed her friends. The teachers had emailed her all the work that she was missing, and she had finished all that within the first few days. She was on to reading the books in the mansion’s massive library. She was able to find a few books on Lycan’s and werewolves but nothing that could help her find out who was behind her attacks. She also knew that Alexander and Gavin were on edge too because they were grumpier than normal, with each other anyway. Alexander wanted to tell Symphony everything, about
It had been a few weeks since Alexander had received the phone call from his uncle and was starting to get impatient as he waited. His uncle was supposed to be showing up after the cloaking was done to make sure that it worked. Alexander was starting to become very annoyed, and it was starting to be noticed by Symphony. He just wanted her to be safe and protected.Just as Alexander was getting ready to call his uncle and ream him out for taking so long, there was a knock at the door. He opened the door and there was his uncle with a big smile on his face. “Took you long enough” Alexander said to him trying to hide his anger.“I am sorry about that, but it took a little bit to gather all of the things that were needed” Damion told him “But it worked. I wasn’t able to smell Symphony’s scent at all on my way here, from the border to the house it was as if it just disappeared.”Alexander was relieved to hear that but was still getting over his frustration of it taking so long.“I am
Alexander knew that what he had told Damion and Gavin was a lot to take in. He knew now what he did back then was wrong but it couldn’t be changed. He still had the plan of making Symphony his but he didn’t think it would be by force this time. He had a feeling that Symphony would become his willingly if he asked her. While the three men sat in the office in silence, they had no idea that Symphony had heard everything and had ran away. Damion was in shock at what he heard from Alexander. He knew the story around was that someone had killed the Alpha and Luna and their daughter had been taken but never in a million years did he think that Alexander had anything to do with it. He knew that Alexander had killed her parents but he didn’t realize who they were. He knew Symphony had power just by her scent, but he didn’t realize why she had her power but now he did. He almost felt bad for helping Alexander with all of this, but Symphony was just an innocent bystander in all of this. G
Symphony didn’t know how long she was following the sound of the water, but she was happy when the stream finally came into view. She was exhausted from walking and needed to rest. Starlett had gone quiet too, which Symphony assumed was from being so tired. She knew that she had been gone for quite awhile because when she left the house it was a little after 10 in the morning and now the sky was pitch black. She stopped by the stream and sat down. Lucky for her there was a big tree nearby that she was able to sit against. Thankfully it was warm out, so she didn’t need to break out the blankets. As she sat, she looked through her backpack for a snack that she had packed and ate that while she tried to silence her thoughts. As she tried to make sense of the situation, she was unaware of the danger that was waiting for her, hidden in the shadows of the trees, a group of rogues had been following her for several hours and were waiting to make their move. They knew she was alone a
After Alexander found Symphony’s room a disaster, he called his guards to start the search for her. He had met with both Gavin and Damion and filled them in on the situation. Damion had called in some favors and had a hundred men show up to help look for her. After the first day of her being gone Alexander started to worry. He knew she was strong and could take care of herself, but he was worried about what could happen to her. He had let Dax take over to see if he could find anything but thanks to the cloaking spell that he had his uncle put on her she was impossible to track. He had asked Damion if there was anyway to lift the spell quickly but he had told Alexander that the spell had to wear off on its own which would take a while. He was starting to grow angrier every day that she was missing. He just wanted to know if she was safe, he didn’t care if she didn’t want to stay with him after everything. They were now coming on day six of her missing and they hadn’t found anythi
Symphony was settling in nicely in the Village, Pawfoot. She had been there almost a week and had made quite a few friends in that short amount of time. She knew she should keep moving but everyone had been so nice, and she had been helping out the owner of the inn in exchange for board and food. She was reading to the children in the park when she felt the hair on the back of her neck stand up and felt like someone was watching her. As she looked around, she didn’t see anyone out of the ordinary, so she brushed it off. She finished reading to the children a little while later and she still couldn’t shake the feeling that she had gotten earlier. She picked up her pace as she headed towards the inn. She was greeted by the other employees and the owner. She asked if she was need as she suddenly felt ill. The owner told her that it was ok if she took the rest of the day and rested. She thanked her and headed up to her room. When she got to her room, she noticed her door was somew
Alexander didn’t know where to begin, or how to explain to Symphony why he did what he did. Part of him knew that no matter what he said she may leave again and never come back. He knew that she deserved to know the truth no matter what her reaction would be. He couldn’t stand the thought of her leaving again but he had to do right by her, he owed her that much at least.“Are you just going to sit there and stare at me or are you actually going to tell me everything” Symphony said sounding annoyed “If you are just going to stare, I will leave.”That brought Alexander back from his thoughts.“I don’t even know where to begin” Alexander said, “I guess I will start at the beginning and try to explain the best that I can.”Symphony looked at him with cold eyes. She was fighting the anger that was starting to well up inside of her. She knew she should give him a chance to explain himself.“I needed the power to protect myself and my reign. My father’s wife was not my mother and she de
