Chapter 57

Amelia was up ahead. She continued walking but made sure it was at a slow pace. She didn’t want to miss out on what they were saying.

Killian spoke and she realized it. Sandra was the one who had gotten those creatures to attack her. She knew it already but hearing it from Killian was still a little painful. The instant she heard it, she turned to have a look at Sandra, she was not the slightest bit remorseful. Instead, she held her shoulders high and proud.

“I have no idea what you mean,” Sandra repeated, more confident than before.

Amelia shook her head and turned to face her direction when her eye caught something in the woods. She followed its focus to see that it was staring at Sandra. A cold wave of wind caressed her face and ran through her hair. She was happy, at least the creature was not staring at her.

Amelia faced forward and continued walking. Killian would save her, she thought.

She got into the gates of the pack and started walking home when she heard Killian’s voice.
