I knew my mother well enough by now to know that she was up to something. She wasn’t going to leave me and Andre to figure things out for ourselves and over the next couple of days, that much became clear. Each time she walked into a room and announced we were going out, we would magically run into Andre! The first couple of times could very well have looked like coincidences, but when we were seated beside each other at a dinner where neither of us really knew our host, it became blatantly obvious!
