Black magic II

I got up and took the cups to wash but she stepped forward.

“I’ll use my magic to…” she said before I shook my head.

“You’ve taught me a very important lesson,” I smiled, rounding her to head for the sink. “I will wash it like a normal human and save my strength for other things.”

“Aren’t you tired after that battle?” was what she said while watching me clean the cups and wash the plates. “You aren’t tired, even if it’s for a second?”

“I am not,” I laughed. “I am full of life and energy. I just needed some time to breathe, that's all.”

She shrugged and headed up the stairs, leaving me to do the dishes.

I found myself to have progressed further than the first time I had arrived here.

I was stronger, faster and more knowledgeable. Some of the books in her hut had been fascinating for me. I learned the origin of the first magician and learned how to activate my powers.

I tried it of course but it wouldn’t work. I wondered if it was because I was not fully magic but only a part of it
