"I'll be brief. We want to purchase the cemetery." Daphne took her seat before anyone could say anything. She was here for business.

The mayor was dumbfounded. He readjusted his tie. "What?" Then he faced the inspector. "Inspector Hayes, Do I need to call security?" It was a sarcastic question. It showed how unhappy he was at Daphne's crazy request. Who demands to buy a city's cemetery? Death itself!

"Let them finish. I allowed them to come here because I knew they had something for you. I haven't heard it myself. I was eager to know." Hayes grinned slyly.

"Let me rephrase that." Daphne cleared her throat, still not realizing how ridiculous she sounded. "The land of the dead? We want to buy it."

The mayor chuckled. "Where do we bury our dead, then?"

Daphne glanced worriedly at Liam. This would be a tough bargain. She needs the whole cemetery to herself so that she can do whatever she wants with it. It would reduce the rising questions. If not, how will she explain the whole alpha stuf
