KEENA

Beep. Beep. Beep.

That is the only sound that I can hear. The sound of constant beeping creeps into my mind even while I try to sleep. Groaning to myself I try to roll over but my body is stiff and unmoving. I try to open my eyes but it is useless. My eyelids won't budge. I try to let out a sigh but something is lodged in my throat. Swallow. I have to swallow. As I swallow the feeling in my throat doesn't go away. Panic begins to fill my soul as I try to escape the dark prison that I have found myself in.

"She is too powerful," suddenly, Sister Edith's voice is in my mind. "Her powers need to be bound. She is going to hurt someone."

"Perhaps you are right," my mother's voice breaks through. "She has put her friend in danger twice now. Through no fault of her own."
