Chapter 62

KEENA

I can hear the sound of wolves clashing against one another outside of the mansion. Every time I venture over to the window to look at the carnage that is happening below, Ward pulls me away.

"You don't want to see that," Ward says as he pulls me away from the window for the thousandth time.

"I need to know what is going on," I plead with Ward. "I need to know what is happening."

Ward scoffs a little at my words. "A group of rogues doesn't stand a chance against the Royal Guard."

"I know that," I grumble. "But my family is out there."

Ward wraps his arms around me and he squeezes me tightly. "Your family has been trained for situations like this."

My eyes focus on the ground in front of me. "Yeah. Everyone but me."

"It wasn't safe for you to train without a wolf or a lycan," Ward tries to comfort me.

I roll my eyes and pull myself away from Ward. "That doesn't mean that I shouldn't know how to defend myself."
