Chapter 73

KEENA

We walk into the restaurant twenty minutes later than we had agreed to be there. I had no idea that our little tryst in the bathroom had caused us so much time. I wanted nothing more than to make a good impression on Ward's parents but that doesn't look like I will be doing that tonight.

As we walk to the table where Ward's parents are seated I notice that they are not alone. A beautiful blonde woman with stunning blue eyes in a black cocktail dress is sitting next to Ward's father. I look up at Ward in confusion and I can practically see the smoke coming from his ears.

As we approach the table Ward's father jumps to his feet and bares his neck to me in submission, but neither his mother nor the other woman sitting at the table do. Ward opens his mouth to say something about it but I squeeze his hand and shake my head "no."

Ward bends down and whispers in my ear, loud enough for everyone to hear, "they are disrespecting you."

"It is fine, Ward," I say as I glare
