Ethan silently prayed in his heart. All he wanted was for her to be considerate enough to avoid creating friction between them. When he inquired again, she surprised him with a subdued response.

"Do you want to come back right away?"He questioned, She shook her head and trembled.

"Not really." She gently answered

He smiled inside at her reply.

He didn't want their discussion to come to an abrupt conclusion because there were so many unanswered questions.

Before voicing the question that had been bugging him for weeks, he took a deep breath.

With his voice barely above a whisper, he asked.

"Are you willing to get married to Ben?"

Upon hearing Ben's name, she remained silent for a brief while as her heart skipped a couple of times.

She was overcome with sadness and hurt at the prospect of Ethan getting married, and she wasn't sure she could handle the idea of him asking about Ben given that he was the root of all of the problems.
