35. Faces

(REYNA)

I woke up with a severe headache. Outside my windows, the sky was dark. There was a single yellow light glowing inside my room, and it hurt my eyes. Everything felt blurry and fuzzy, and my fingers felt like they were made of rubber.

I winced as I sat up in my bed. Everything looked blurry and the room floated around me. Even through the haze, I registered that something was wrong here.

What happened? How did I come to my room?

I tried to think, but I couldn't remember anything. The more I tried to remember things, the more I felt like it was slipping away from my grasp.

"What happened Riva?" I asked my wolf, feeling the floor shifting under my legs as I tried to stand up. I slumped back to the bed, pressing my fingers against my eyes.

My wolf howled. She looked just as disoriented and confused.
